In 1984, the Regional Reserve of Erosion Pyramids (Riserva Regionale delle Piramidi di Erosione) was created, just a few kilometres away from Pisogne and the Iseo Lake. This 21 hectares wide area houses several high rock pyramids, with large stones on the top, like bizarre “hats”, called by the locals “stone fairies”. The most impressive one is about 30 metres high and 8 metres wide at the base, with a stone on ereated by the peculiar phenomenon of water erosion. The Reserve can be visited all year long and it is set near the lovely village of Zone.
